Make No Mistake – Liverpool Legend Warns On Sheffield United Clash

· Inside Futbol
Liverpool legend John Aldridge has warned the Reds that they cannot afford to be as wasteful against Sheffield United on Sunday as they were against Luton Town.

The Merseyside outfit managed to snatch three points from Fulham at the weekend with a 4-3 scoreline, despite trailing in the game 3-2 to the Cottagers until the 87th minute.

Liverpool have now managed to climb up to second place in the Premier League table with 31 points from 14 games and they are set to travel to Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United on Sunday.

Aldridge stressed that Liverpool have a habit of dropping points against teams that sit lower down the table and pointed out that they have put in a better defensive performance against the Blades than they did against Fulham.

The Reds legend thinks that Sheffield United will sit back like Luton Town did when they faced Liverpool last month and warned Jurgen Klopp’s side that they cannot afford to be wasteful in front of goal at the weekend as they were against the Hatters.

“Notoriously, we slip up against teams lower down in the table”, Aldridge wrote in his Liverpool Echo column.

“We have to defend better than we did on Sunday against Fulham, make no mistake about it.

“Sheffield United are going to sit back and do what Luton did, so we should know what to expect.

“We were very wasteful and poor that day and can’t afford for a repeat of that.”

Liverpool are undefeated against Sheffield United in their last six meetings and they will be determined to continue that run on Sunday.
