EPL: Arteta banned for Arsenal’s trip to Aston Villa
by Ifreke Inyang · Daily PostArsenal manager Mikel Arteta will not be on the touchline when they travel to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Spaniard picked up a yellow card for celebrating the Gunners’ winning goal against Luton Town on Tuesday.
It was Arteta’s third of the season and that triggered a one-match ban.
This rule was introduced at the start of this season.
Declan Rice headed in a 97th-minute winner, triggering wild celebrations among the players, staff and fans at the stadium, as Arsenal went five points clear at the top.
Speaking after the game, Arteta told beIN Sports: “I could not be seated in my seat.
“It was pure emotion. If that’s a yellow… that’s a yellow.”
