Man arrested in connection with Kerry cemetery killing
A father-of-seven was fatally stabbed after he attended a funeral in Tralee last year
by Clare McCarthy · Irish MirrorA man has been arrested as part of an investigation into a fatal stabbing that took place at a funeral in Kerry last year.
Thomas 'Tom' Dooley, 43, was killed on October 5, 2022, following the burial of young Killarney mother-of-five Bridget O'Brien.
The father-of-seven from Ballyspillane in Killarney, died from multiple injuries after he was assaulted at Rathass Cemetery in Tralee after attending the funeral.
His wife, Siobhán Dooley, was also attacked in the same incident and was seriously injured.

Gardai have now arrested a man, aged in his 60s, as part of the investigation and he is being held at a garda station in Kerry.
Multiple arrests have already been made in relation to the killing and five people have been charged with Thomas Dooley's murder.
The trial is set to take place at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin in May 2024.
A garda spokesperson said on Wednesday: "As part of the ongoing investigation into the fatal assault in Rathass Cemetery, Tralee, Co. Kerry on Wednesday, 5th October 2022, Gardaí have made an arrest of a man, aged in his 60s today Wednesday 6th December, 2023.
"He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in Kerry.
"Investigations ongoing."
