Not Sure About His Medical Qualifications – Ange Postecoglou Shuts Down Noise Around Spurs Star’s Injury
· Inside FutbolAnge Postecoglou has claimed that James Maddison’s rehabilitation has been progressing as expected despite the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder’s claim of a slow recovery process.
Maddison was the star of the creative hub of the Tottenham team until he suffered an ankle injury last month and is now set to be out until early 2024.
The midfielder’s absence has been felt in a Tottenham team who have been without a win in four Premier League games after a rampaging start to the campaign.
Maddison recently claimed that his recovery from the ankle injury has been slow, which has dampened the mood of the Spurs fans who are keen to have him back as soon as possible.
However, Postecoglou stressed that there is no need to pay too much importance to what the player said.
The Spurs boss insisted that he trusts the club’s medical team and Maddison’s recovery is on schedule at the moment.
The Australian said in a press conference: “I’m not sure about James’ medical qualifications and whether we should trust his diagnosis in this situation.
“We should go with the medical staff and as far as I’m aware he’s progressing as expected.”
Maddison scored three times and laid on five assists in eleven Premier League appearances this season before the ankle injury sidelined him.
