These Liverpool postcodes have some of the worst drivers in the country

Four Liverpool postcodes are among the worst in the country for driving offenders.

Figures from the Reach data unit have named L6, L7, L8 and L28 among Britain's districts with the highest rates of drivers with six or more points on their licence*, while the entire Liverpool postcode area ranks ninth worst in the country.

In joint fifth place for worst drivers in Britain are L6 and L8, which both have one in 23 drivers with six or more points. Ranking seventh are the districts of L7 and L28, home to one in 25 drivers with six points or more. In the whole Liverpool postcode area, one in every 41 drivers has six or more points.

L6, L7, L8 and L28 cover the neighbourhoods of Anfield, Everton, Fairfield, Kensington, Tuebrook, Edge Hill, Dingle, Grafton, Toxteth, Netherton, Thornton, Warbreck, Orrell, Gillmoss and the city centre.

Over the past week, in two separate incidents just yards from each other in L8, a woman died after being hit by a car and a bus crashed into a van.

The worst offending postcode in the nation is W1C, which covers the City of Westminister, and is home to the Houses of Parliament and much of the British government. Here, one in every 11 drivers has six or more points, however there are only 22 drivers in registered in the district..
