A body has been found in the search for a 22-year-old man who had been reported missing in October.

Search and rescue teams have been looking to trace Braydon Wright, from Willington, County Durham. He was reportedly last seen on Willington High Street at around 8.30am on October 20.

Members of the Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team were carrying out out a targeted search of land near Hunwick on Wednesday morning when they sadly found a body.

Formal identification has yet to take place, however Braydon's family have been informed. An investigation is under way to establish the circumstances and the coroner has been informed.

A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "We are sorry to report that officers searching for missing Willington man, Braydon Wright, have found a body.

"Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of the 22-year-old have been informed. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

"We would like to offer our thanks to members of the mountain rescue team, who have volunteered their time to assist with the search for Braydon in difficult conditions over recent weeks."
