BBC Strictly Come Dancing's 'heartbroken' Katya Jones shares another 'blow' as she says 'I'm gutted'
The professional dancer was forced to withdraw from the competition after celebrity partner Nigel Harman suffered an injury
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsKatya Jones has shared another 'blow' following her unexpected Strictly Come Dancing exit in a post on social media. The professional dancer was forced to withdraw from the competition just before the quarter-finals after celebrity partner Nigel Harman suffered an injury.
Major changes had to be made following the actor's sudden exit from the show - after he sustained a rib injury that left him in A&E. His withdrawal from the competition was announced just hours before the show was due to air.
Nigel has since admitted the injury had happened the day before, and that he was covering his pain during an appearance on It Takes Two on the Friday (December 1).

He still appeared on the show to talk to Claudia Winkleman alongside Katya, where he explained he'd been practising their Musicals week routine - a Charleston last night to Step in Time from Mary Poppins - when a leap off a 'rust box' left him on the floor.
After their live TV appearance on Strictly spin-off It Takes Two, Katya took to Instagram where she addressed her followers and shared her thanks to those who supported her and Nigel as well as those behind-the-scenes - including friends - who the viewers don't get to see.
She also shared a clip of a 'camera block' - when the contestants perform their routine in the ballroom in front of the cameras before going live. Alongside it, Katya wrote: "I am also so gutted you won't get to see this number... Nigel truly shone and all together it was a real treat."
She added: "I can't stop dancing it and singing the song in my head," alongside a crying laughing emoji. But Katya has once again been supported as she took to her main Instagram grid with a number of pictures and clips of herself and Nigel taken over their weeks in the competition.

"And here we are," she typed alongside a broken heart emoji. She continued: "What an abrupt ending. But when the dust has settled, I know only beautiful memories will remain in my heart. When we turned up every day and had our coffees, when we would have discussions about the story of our dance and our characters, every time you made me laugh, every time you gave me a reassuring hug.
"When I would get excited about your toilet breaks because you always belted out some amazing tunes whilst doing your business. Giving the first pre-view of our dances to your family, and see their faces light up.
"The support of your friends and countless messages of love and encouragement that we received. The list can go on. And then the excitement of doing the dance on set and see it come alive on Fridays. Eventually walking out onto the dance floor together every Saturday, holding hands, feeling the magic in the air."
She added: "I am so grateful this partnership happened. So proud of you and privileged to spend time with such an enormously talented human . @themeditatingactor #WeAreTheSh*t. AND THE BIGGEST APPRECIATION FOR YOUR LOVE TO US."
