Thakur was part of winners Chennai Super Kings in 2021. Delhi Capitals bought him during IPL 2022 mega auction. Later, they traded him to Kolkata Knight Riders in the last season. The right-arm pacer hunted 7 wickets in 11 games last year at a poor economy of 10.48. He slammed a match-winning half-century in one game.
Shardul Thakur is an experienced player in IPL, who has been part of the tournament since the 2015 season. Playing in 8 seasons, he has hunted 89 wickets in 86 matches averaging 28.76 and 9.16 economy. Thakur is a mighty tailender as he can smash big shots. 3. Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
Chennai Super Kings is the first team that can target Shardul Thakur in IPL 2024 auction. Thakur was part of CSK from IPL 2018 to 2021 seasons, during which they won two titles (2018 and 2021).
Thakur’s pairing with Deepak Chahar brought a lot of success for the team during that time. Hence, CSK would be interested in grabbing their former pacer back in the squad. CSK has Rs. 31.40 crore in their salary purse.

2. Mumbai Indians (MI)
There is no doubt that Mumbai Indians need to strengthen their bowling department in IPL 2024. They have a powerful set of batters like Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Tim David among others.
However, their bowling department is limited to two powerful pacers- Jasprit Bumrah and Jason Behrendorff. The IPL 2020 champions need more pacers in their squad. Hence, the five-time champions can target Shardul Thakur in the IPL 2024 auction.

Like Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore also has a scarcity of pacers in their squad. RCB has released pacers like David Willey, Harshal Patel, Josh Hazlewood, Wayne Parnell, and Siddarth Kaul.
Hence, they need plenty of pacers in their squad. Shardul Thakur will be a good option for a domestic pacer. With Rs. 40 crore in their kitty, RCB has the maximum funds in IPL 2024 auction.
