After getting unsold multiple times in previous auctions, Angelo Mathews aims to find a team in the IPL 2024 auction. The Sri Lankan all-rounder has kept a base price of Rs. 2 crore for himself for the auction. Angelo Mathews last played in IPL 2017 for Delhi Capitals. The 36-year-old recently played for Sri Lanka in the ICC World Cup 2023.

Since his debut in IPL 2009, the Sri Lanka all-rounder has played 49 games in the franchise tournament. He has hit 724 runs averaging 23.35 and picked 27 scalps. 3. Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings can target Angelo Mathews in IPL 2024 auction. With Rs. 34.60 crore funds, the defending champions can grab 6 players into their squad including 3 overseas players. CSK is known to keep veteran and experienced players in their squad.

Angelo Mathews is one such player at the age of 36 and has long international experience. With the ouster of Akash Singh, Dwaine Pretorius, Kyle Jamieson, and Sisanda Magala, the men-in-yellow have lost many pacers from their squad. Hence, picking the Sri Lanka seamer can be a good move.

2. Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings can also go after Angelo Mathews in IPL 2024 auction. The Shikhar Dhawan-led side does not have a medium-pacer all-rounder in their squad. Rishi Dhawan is one such player but he lacks international experience and has proved inefficient in the batting department.

PBKS has also lost all-rounder Shahrukh Khan from their squad. Punjab has Rs. 29.10 crore left salary cap with which they can take 8 more players.

1. Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals has parted ways with pacers Mustafizur Rahman and Chetan Sakariya for the next season. They have also released Rovman Powell, who can both bowl and bat. Moreover, the 2020 runners-up do not have any seam all-rounders in their squad.

Hence, they might bid for Angelo Mathew during the IPL 2024 auction. DC can grab 9 more players including 4 overseas players. They have Rs. 28.95 crore available with them for the auction.
