Sushant Singh Rajput’s friend Smita Parekh was reportedly summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation today, as they probe the late actor’s untimely demise. After stepping out from the DRDO guest house, where the CBI team is staying and has been interrogating everyone related to the case, Smita told Times Now that she saw Sandip Ssingh there and hinted that the CBI could be grilling him. Smita, who has been friends with Sushant since 2017, stated that she also saw a mystery girl there but was not sure about her identity as everyone was wearing masks. Sandip Ssingh was Sushant’s friends when the latter used work in the TV space. Sandip was one of the first to reach Sushant’s residence after reports of his demise emerged, however the late actor’s family lawyer stated that they did not know Sandip.

Previously during an interview with ETimes, Smita had spoken about her recent interactions with the late actor and stated, “After Rhea came into Sushant's life, she would pick up his phone and even coordinate our meetings. So Sushant was sort of gradually disconnecting and Rhea was taking over. If only I knew what was going on, I would have personally gone over. I think he must have been given a phone without 'his contacts'."

While the CBI is investigating Sushant’s death case, a parallel probe is being carried out at the Narcotics Control Bureau. On Friday night, the NCB arrested Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik and the late actor’s house manager Samuel Miranda. Rhea has also been summoned by the NCB and is likely to appear for questioning on Sunday. Speaking to the media, Mutha Ashok Jain, Deputy DG, South-Western Region, NCB in Mumbai, had stated, “Today we have obtained the police custody remand of two more persons so that makes four people in our custody remand. We will be asking her (actor Rhea Chakraborty) to join the investigation, and maybe to some other people as well.” Showik had reportedly told the NCB that Rhea was allegedly procuring drugs for Sushant.
