What are the drink driving limits?

A woman has been banned from driving for four years after being dealt with by the courts.

She was among the latest cases to be dealt with in the courts, having been caught drink driving while in a Peugeot car in Doveridge, where she lives.

The cases were heard at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court and included drink-drivers and another defendant who had assaulted a police officer.

Many of those who were convicted of offences were ordered to pay compensation to their victims, and one defendant was jailed for her actions.

Here are those who have been dealt with in court:

Michelle Whitfield, 44, of Wadley Lane, Wadley, Doveridge, has admitted driving a Peugeot in Marston Lane, Doveridge, on June 26 with 133 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

She also admitted driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

Whitfield has been jailed for 14 weeks due to the high level of her alcohol reading, with magistrates being told she was a danger to the public and had a previous conviction for a similar offence.

She was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £128 victim surcharge and has been banned from driving for 48 months.

Michelle Haywood, 45, of Nene Way, Hilton, has admitted driving a white Mercedes in Egginton Road, Hilton, on April 4, with 117 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

She has been made the subject of a six-month community order, was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £95 victim surcharge. Haywood was also banned from driving for 28 months.

Hayley McKeown, 38, of Hornbrook Close, Burton, has admitted driving a white Seat Ibiza in Tutbury Road, Burton, on May 3, with 106 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

She has been made the subject of a six-month community order.

McKeown was fined £150 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £95 victim surcharge, and was banned from driving for 24 months.

Gareth Pincombe, 41,of Repton Road, Hartshorne, has admitted failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis in Swadlincote on August 22.

He also admitted resisting a police officer and assaulting an officer on the same day.

Pincombe was made the subject of a 12-month community order with 120 hours unpaid work, and was ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £95 victim surcharge.

He was banned from driving for 17 months.

Euan Berridge, 22,of Midland Road, Swadlincote, has admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards a police officer in Swadlincote on August 21.

He also admitted threatening to damage a Derbyshire police car and admitted possession of cannabis.

Berridge was made the subject of a four-week community with a four-week curfew, and was ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £95 victim surcharge.

James Partington, 32, Panama Road, Burton, admitted driving a Vauxhall Corsa in Balfour Street, Burton, on April 4 with 53 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

He has been fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

He was also banned from driving for 12 months.
