When it comes to cleaning your oven, the hob and the trays tend to receive special attention, but the hood vents often go unnoticed.

Over time, grime and grease builds up, leaving behind a sticky orange residue.

But before you psych yourself up to scrub it all down, Sarah Waldman has a hack that will make your life 10 times easier, Daily Star reports.

Sarah, who works in property and owns a business, revealed an incredible trick for how she cleans her cooker hood using a dishwasher tablet - and it involves no scrubbing at all.

Stunned by the results, Sarah took to Facebook to share the incredible before and after pictures.

The post read: "Omg... So I need to share! Went to do a clean the other day and the cooker hood vents were yellow and black.

"Hot soap water did nothing. Degreaser did nothing. The Pink Stuff did nothing."

Sarah added: "Was just about to use bicarb and vinegar, when I thought I'd try the dishwasher tablet trick.

"OMG it was like using an eraser on pencil. It just came off! Unreal! So just wanted to share my pleasure."

Sarah explained that she first stood the vents in the sink on their side.

Then she created a paste out of a dishwasher tablet and warm water, which she rubbed over the vent.

Once she'd rubbed in the product, she washed it off.

She said: "It disappeared before my eyes!"

Since being posted it has received dozens of likes and comments from fellow avid cleaners in the group.

One said: "Thanks need to do this."

Another added: "Put mine in the dishwasher then it came out sparkling."

A third also wrote: "I take them off the hood and put them in the dishwasher. They look like new when they come out."
