The Princess Bride cast reuniting for script reading and it's inconceivable

by · Metro

The Princess Bride cast will be reuniting for a virtual script reading and fundraiser.

It’s been 33 years since the release of the iconic comedy, and we’re ready to see everyone reunite for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin fundraiser.

Cary Elwes, Carol Kane, Robin Wright, Chris Sarandon, Mandy Patinkin, Wallace Shawn and Billy Crystal will be taking part, along with director Rob Reiner.

Patton Oswalt will also be moderating a Q&A the script-reading.

The exciting event will raise money for the state party, with a signup and donation required to view.

Don’t worry, there’s no minimum requirement so hand over whatever pennies you have and get viewing.

Cary teased the event to fans, posting: ‘Something very cool coming soon…’ along with a graphic of the film.

Last year, Sony Pictures Entertainment chief executive Tony Vinciquerra mentioned the idea of a Princess Bride remake.

He made the daring suggestion in a Variety profile on Norman Lear, who was the executive producer of the cult film.

‘We have so many people coming to us saying, “We want to remake this show or that show,”‘ Vinciquerra said.

‘Very famous people whose names I won’t use, but they want to redo The Princess Bride.

‘Some people want to do animated versions of some of the sitcoms. Not a month goes by when we don’t have an idea coming from some very big name wanting to do things with Norman.’

People weren’t too keen on the idea, but a virtual script reading is the next best thing, right?
