I'm A Celeb star's adorable mystery childhood photo leaves fans guessing who it is
It's a cute photo - but can you guess who it is?
by Charlotte Everett, Howard Lloyd · Wales OnlineA cute childhood photo of one of the campmates in the current series of I'm a Celebrity has stumped viewers. The cute throwback photo shows a small child grinning at the camera.
Fans were stunned to discover it is Sam Thompson. He found fame over the years on Made In Chelsea and now on the 2023 series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, but he wasn't always a reality star. He used to be a cutie and a newly released photo of him proves it.
The 31-year-old's mum Karen has shared a photo of Sam when he was just a child posing for the camera, the Mirror reports. Sam's mum has admitted her has always been a "cheeky chappy", which is no surprise from what fans have seen on I'm A Celeb. The sweet snap shows Sam giving his best like butter wouldn't melt grin while on a photo shoot in London and he's been involved in plenty of photoshoots since.
His mum has shared a collection of photos of her son when he was just a toddler and said that while he was a "little angel", he got away with a lot when he was younger.
Another photo shows Sam alongside his famous sister Louise, who also found fame on Made In Chelsea. The pair are seen standing side by side as they beamed for the camera as they visited a safari park.
It seems that Sam has always been quite the animal lover as he can be seen riding a horse as Louise walked alongside when he was just three-years-old. He also managed to befriend a dog while on holiday with his family in South Africa when he was three.
Sam's mum's release of the sweet photographs comes as she opened up about how she feels about her son being on I'm A Celeb at the moment. Speaking from the family home in Berkshire, Karen said: "Sam was definitely a very cheeky chappy when he was little but he looked like such a little angel he probably got away with far more than he should have – nothing much has changed!
"It’s been very surreal watching Sam on I’m a Celebrity. It’s a dream come true for him. [But] I will secretly be happy and relieved when he’s safely back home in one piece!
"Seeing your child so exposed is quite nerve-wracking for any mum, so I have had some difficult moments watching. Yet I’m incredibly proud of his achievements and of the way he hasn’t let his ADHD dull his ambitions - perhaps it drives him even more."
It was when Sam starred in his his Channel 4 documentary Is This ADHD? in May this year that he was diagnosed and has opened up about it since.
Referencing his diagnoses, Karen said: "It was always obvious that Sam had an incredibly short attention span but I didn’t know anything about ADHD at that time. So the diagnosis explained a lot about his struggles as a child, such as not being able to sit still or complete any task.
"The diagnosis has been very beneficial for him. His brain works in a slightly different way and he’s incredibly imaginative and creative. Fortunately, he’s made it work for him. And I couldn’t be prouder."
